Four-star junior commits to USF

South Florida landed the 11th verbal commitment in five days on Thursday when four-star Jefferson (Fla.) junior Jermaine Eskridge opted to pledge to the Bulls during a visit. The hometown team edged out several top programs for one of the best players in the 2018 class.

Eskridge said he was moved to commit after seeing the flurry of commits for the 2017 class including 4-star athlete Bruce Judson.

"I just decided that I could help build something special at USF with guys like Bruce Judson and seeing those guys commit inspired me to commit," Eskridge said.

A pair of Bulls assistants helped recruit Eskridge, but the most excited person when he committed was Willie Taggart.

"Coach (Raymond) Woodie and coach (David) Reeves recruited me for USF and coach Taggart was really excited when I committed. Coach Taggart said he was going to take his wife out tonight to celebrate at a nice restaurant and he hugged me really tight."

Next up for the talent junior will be some recruiting duties of his own.

"We are going to build something really amazing at USF and I'm working on recruiting Ken Montgomery, Florida State commit Isaiah Bolden, Florida commit Zachery Carter, Bentlee Sanders and Malik Davis to join me at USF," he said.

The four-star wideout has big goals for his future at South Florida.
